Below is a clip from Penn (of Penn and Teller, famous Vegas magic/comedy act) sharing about an encounter after one of their recent shows. FYI, Penn is a pretty outspoken atheist.
Our fear does more damage than the reality of what would happen if we sowed true compassion.
WOW! Just think if more "good people", as Penn called the man, were to Just Ask or Just Share with him! Maybe Penn would have a change of heart - we can pray for that!

That was really cool. For some reason I've always had quite a bit of animosity towards Penn because he's been such a high profile and aggressive atheist. He's angered me on many occasions. So much so that I would have personally never EVER been so bold as to share with him like that, and really never would have thought to even pursue a dialogue with him. This really makes me thing that no one is off limits from me just asking them.
I think we all need to consider the differences & similarities between being bold & being good, kind people. I loved a study of Daniel that I was in a few years ago that always reminds me still that Daniel was both bold and humble, never defiling himself in the king's court but always standing in faith & speaking truth. Did you notice how many times Penn reminded his viewers that this man was "sane"?
What??? So Penn "knows" there's no God, but he respects this guy for having shared his belief? He even seems to have been touched by the experience. Was he touched because he found a hint of truth in what he heard?
Imagine if the tables were turned. I find it hard to believe I could have the same reaction as Penn if an atheist came up to me and shared his belief. All the reasons why he's wrong would immediately start running through my mind. It would be hard not to go on the defensive let alone consider calling them a "good" person based solely on that single interaction. Crazy. Mike
